CANTERA is the professional laboratory launched by the Alcalá Film Office and ALCINE to support emerging talent and the production of first professional short films.

Registration required (until October 24) and for selected projects only.

SPEAKERS / MENTORS

Blanca Escoda
Screenwriter, analyst, and script consultant, founder of Decoding Stories. She trained with script doctor Miguel Machalski and at The Script Factory in London under Lucy Scher. She has worked as a tutor and advisor for Creative Europe, Filmarket Hub, Filmax, and the TV Series Lab Hamburg, as well as serving as a jury member for film festivals and development funding commissions. She combines teaching with co-writing a feature film with director Laura Sisteró, selected for the SGAE and Dones Visuals script labs.

Carlo D’Ursi
Producer and founder of Potenza Producciones, with which he has produced Goya-nominated short films such as Evanescente and Ciao Bambina, and feature films distributed on platforms including Netflix, RTVE, and HBO. Since June 2023, he has been President of the Madrid Audiovisual Association (AMA), promoting the internationalization of Madrid-based projects and strengthening the region’s production ecosystem.

Enrique Buleo
Multidisciplinary filmmaker born in Villanueva de la Jara (Cuenca). After gaining recognition with short films such as Las Visitantes, his debut feature Bodegón con fantasmas was developed in prestigious international labs including Torino Filmmaker Lab, La Incubadora (ECAM), and When East Meets West. Selected for the Official Section of the Sitges Film Festival 2024, the film confirms his unique style that blends black comedy, realism, and La Mancha’s surreal charm.

Gustavo Cotta
Director and screenwriter with an extensive international career in both Latin America and Europe. Based in Madrid, he develops fiction projects for television and streaming platforms. He combines his creative work with teaching at RTVE Formación, the Mario Bolaño School, and the Centro de Arte Vocal in Buenos Aires.

HAZ RTVE
HAZ RTVE is the advanced digital training platform of the Instituto RTVE, part of the Spain Audiovisual Hub initiative. It offers online courses for audiovisual professionals and students, focused on specialization and employability in the audiovisual sector.
